<p>In 1978, Jampolsky’s earlier book, “Love is Letting Go of Fear” changed my life and turned me into a New Age spirit channel. So it was a pleasure to be asked to illustrate this book for him. I’ve spent my life as a designer and illustrator trying to ape period styles of art—whether the art deco posters of A.M. Cassandre or the early animation style of Max Fleischer—but the illustrations in Shortcuts to God are the closest you’ll find to how I draw when I’m not trying to draw like somebody else. The thing I like about New Age is there’s no religious cults to join, and it’s all about loving yourself and forgiveness. What could be bad about that? And as a psychic channel, most of the things I am interested in and that I write—in case you didn’t know this about me—are sort of ‘input’ into my mind by my spirit guides. So if you look at the zany and irreverent writing in my own latest books you’ll realize that being Godly has nothing to do with being morose or dogmatic.
