The Emperor Wears no Clothes: The Ultimate Story of Cannabis Hemp

Softcover – 292 Pages – Black & White – Profusely Illustrated

This is the 11th edition of this classic hemp “Bible,” first published in 1985, that has sold one-half of a million copies in 3 languages. The book tells the history of the Cannabis Sativa plant, its many uses as paper, fiber, fuel, cloth, rope, medicine, etc. and it makes a darned good argument that, if it were legalized, hemp could save the world. The book is filled with hundreds of pictures—the old ones from Jack’s original book, which have been rescanned and cleaned-up and tons of new ones found especially for this edition. You’ll see early anti-dope crusader Harry Anslinger at work destroying supposed caches of confiscated marijuana in 1930s “Photo-op” shots. You’ll find Louis Armstrong’s dope letters, reefer song labels of the 1930s, and tons more neat stuff. This book, that began the current rage for hemp, was nonetheless very funky until I redesigned the layout and edited out all the dangling participles. Even though it tends to eventually make most people lethargic and spaced-out, this is an important and entertaining book that will help you to understand why marijuana is so feared by government.
