<p>“The Emperor” is famous for being the best history of the growth of cannabis industries and their subsequent suppression. You’ll be amazed to learn about the conspiracies by DuPont, Hearst and the US Government to suppress hemp—just to eliminate competition to competing industries! Herer released about 10 editions of the Emperor (not Hans Christian Anderson’s book, by the way!) before a new publisher hired me to thoroughly edit and redesign the book bringing it up to a new standard of quality. (Jack and I argued over every sentence!) I added tons of new pictures and found Herer’s old sources to make better scans from his graphics. The book remains the best of its kind. A fascinating read!</p>
<p>This book is <span class="caps">NOT</span> signed and numbered by the Author, Jack Herer. The signed editions are sold out. Originally the edition was 1/2 green hemp cloth and 1/2 burgundy purple hemp cloth. Only the Burgundy are left. This is the hardcover all-hemp edition with 100% hemp cloth on the covers and 100% hemp paper on the interior pages. The paper was manufactured by Crane & Co. that manufactures the paper for our money! After they had produced the hemp paper for this book, they decided to cease production. The paper was too good, I guess. And so we never had enough paper to produce the full 1000 copy edition. We only got to about 700. As far as I know, these are the last few copies for sale.</p>
